These terms explain how this portfolio and its example sites work, and how a potential project moves from enquiry to an agreed build.

This website is operated by Andrew Barrett, a web developer based in Rhyl, North Wales. These terms apply to use of andrewbarrett.dev and to initial enquiries about my services. A specific project is governed by its written quote and agreed project terms, which take priority if they differ from this page.
These terms do not govern third-party sites or apps linked from my portfolio. Airtake has its own terms.
Using this site
You may browse the site and use its contact features for genuine enquiries. Please do not interfere with the site, attempt unauthorised access, or submit unlawful or harmful material. The content is provided for general information and may be updated.
External links are provided for context. I do not control the content, availability or terms of those websites.
Examples and pricing
The Essential Website (£499), Brand Intelligence (£699) and Shopify Store (£899) are presented as one-off, fixed-scope starting packages. The linked example websites are mockups to illustrate a possible style and feature level; they are not promised final designs or live stores. Larger sites and web apps receive a custom quote after their requirements are discussed.
Package details, scope and timing are confirmed in writing before booking. Hosting, domain names, Shopify subscriptions, paid themes and third-party apps are separate unless a quote expressly includes them. Naming research is preliminary screening and is not formal legal or trade-mark clearance. I do not guarantee search rankings, sales or other commercial results.
Starting a project
An enquiry or form submission does not place an order or create a service contract. Before work starts, I will confirm the deliverables, content and access needed from you, price, payment schedule, estimated timeline and any third-party costs in a written quote or agreement. A project starts only once we both accept those terms and any agreed initial payment is made.
You are responsible for supplying content and access you have the right to use, reviewing work within agreed timescales and giving clear feedback. Delays in receiving these may affect the delivery date.
Deposits, payments and changes
For a larger project, the deposit amount and payment milestones are set out in the written quote. The deposit is due after you approve the quote and before work begins. Any deposit terms, including how it is treated if a project is cancelled, will be stated before payment and remain subject to your legal rights.
If the requested work changes after approval, I will explain any effect on price and timing and seek your agreement before carrying out additional paid work. You will not be charged for unapproved extras.
Intellectual property
This site’s text, design and code belong to me or the relevant rights holders. You may view them for personal evaluation but may not copy them for commercial use without permission.
Ownership or licence terms for a commissioned project, including any third-party themes, fonts, plugins or assets, will be stated in the project agreement. Nothing on this website alone transfers ownership of a design or source code.
Cancellation and consumer rights
Contact me at andrewbuilds98@gmail.com if you want to cancel or raise a concern. The written project agreement will explain any cancellation process and amounts due for work already carried out.
If you are a consumer entering a distance contract, statutory cancellation rights may apply, including a 14-day cancellation period for services. If you ask me to start work during that period, I will explain any applicable payment and cancellation consequences before work begins. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer law.
Liability, law and contact
I take reasonable care to keep the site accurate and available, but it may occasionally be interrupted or contain an error. Any project-specific warranties or limitations will be set out in the agreed project terms. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
